Event Description

The Columbia Center on Sustainable Investment is pleased to announce the seventh annual Executive Training on Extractive Industries and Sustainable Development. The course, which will take place at Columbia University in New York City, from June 3-14, 2019, is an interdisciplinary training course designed to equip public sector officials from resource-rich developing countries and representatives of local civil society organizations with the necessary skills to promote the responsible development of the extractive industries sector. A select number of representatives from the private sector and development agencies may also be admitted.

The course will cover cross-cutting themes, such as the economics and geopolitics of extractive industries, legal and fiscal frameworks, leveraging investments through industrial policies and infrastructure development, revenue management and planning, local community development, and environmental protection, including planning for and managing the impacts of climate change.

More details about the program are available on our website.

Applications for admission will be evaluated on a rolling basis until February 4, 2019.
