Webinar #3: Indigenous Communities Respond to Threats: Conflict Resolution and Negotiation Strategies (ENGLISH)
Presented by Ms. Polly Grace, Kimberley Land Council & Ms. Hayley Haas, Arma Legal, Australia
Date: 18th July 2017 | Time: 8:00 EDT / New York
Summary: Threats to indigenous territories by the exploration or encroachment of an extractive industry can lead to potential fractious outcomes. At the other end of the spectrum, Payment for Environment Services (PES) opportunities can similarly result in conflict, or if delivered correctly, a significant opportunity. It is critical for communities to manage these situations through effective conflict resolution strategies and negotiation skills. During this webinar, you will learn practical skills and tools that can be used by indigenous and local communities around the world to safeguard their land and territories.
