The Strathmore Extractives Industry Centre in collaboration with KIPYA Africa Ltd. are pleased to invite you to the above event scheduled to be held on the 7th of April 2016 at the Strathmore University Law School from 7.30 a.m. – 1:00 pm.
The event focuses on the use of technical innovation in Kenya’s Mining, Oil and Gas sector to adapt to the current market conditions in the wake of the slump in oil and mineral prices. We aim to provide participants with insights on industry trends involving innovation and technology in oil, gas and mining projects as well as an opportunity to network with like-minded individuals/institutions.
This invite-only event will bring together high level representatives of the private sector and other representative bodies of the extractive industry sector including consulates and professionals in academia. The main objective is to provide key information to stakeholders and professionals aspiring to plug in the industry’s value chain as well as provide a platform for constructive interaction.
The event will have four themes:
The event brings together collective support to the industries young entrepreneurs from the country’s Extractives Sector Business Member Organizations including the Kenya Oil & Gas Association (KOGA), the Petroleum Institute of East Africa (PIEA), The Geological Society of Kenya (GSK), the Kenya Association of Manufacturers (KAM), the Kenya Chamber of Mines (KCM) and the International Colored Gemstones Association (ICGMA).
The highlight of the event is the Simba’s Den, our version of the famous Shark Tank where young Kenyan enteprenuers will showcase their innovations to an esteemed panel of judges – Simbas - that will include Bitange Ndemo, Assumpta Muhoho, Onchera Maiko and Eng. Jack Mbui.
