The Regional Training Workshop on Environment, Community, Health & Safety in the Development Minerals sector will be delivered over four days, including a field visit to a quarry or small-scale mining site. The training workshop will be held in Maputo, Mozambique and open to applicants from: Angola, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Rwanda and Zimbabwe (please note that selection for Rwanda participants has already occurred from a previous call and new applications from Rwanda will not be accepted).
The Southern African training workshop is the last of a series of six Regional Workshops held by the Programme in each of the ACP geographical divisions (East Africa, West Africa, Central Africa, Southern Africa, Caribbean and the Pacific). The training workshop will be attended by around forty (40) mid-level professionals, representing public stakeholders such as regulatory agencies and local governments; private stakeholders such as small-scale mining enterprises, associations, and business development centers; and social stakeholders such as civil society organizations and community groups.
