sharing in governance of extractive industries
Oil, gas and mining are new to this nation. Since, Chevron have started its exploration stage in downstream of Cambodia's sea during 1990s, and have just conducted it's EIA report for inter-ministry consultation. To this, there are many challenges regrading lacking of petroleum legal framework, poor public consultation with concerned communities also civil society organisation, and the significant challenges for both government and NGOs are the limitation of human resource to work/deal with expertise petroleum companies such Chevron, CNOOC, JOGMEC..
As Cambodian citizen, and also a member of coalition in Cambodia which work closely with community, government and also companies to demanding and ensuring accountability, transparency and also equal/fairness benefit sharing amongst those stakeholders. I would strongly commit to have a chance to gain a scholarship to upgraded and acknowledge more about the field of petroleum development in order to help and contribute to Cambodia's development too. So, i would ask each GOXI's member for your recommendation and suggestion on how to find and get a scholarship.
Working together toward the clean and fair world!
Thanks for your high consideration.
