The GoSL Online Repository was launched to the public by Hon. Minister Mansaray of the Ministry of Mines and Mineral Resources, at a launch event 19 January in Freetown. 

The public can now register and immediately get access to all industrial mining rights and related payments from 1 Jan 2010, as well as all exporters licenses and related exports and royalty payments on gold and diamond from 2008.

Two consultation meetings in Freetown this week. On Monday, mining companies got a glimpse of their own license statuses and payments in the GoSL Online Repository. On Tuesday, a full house of civil society and media representatives was explained how the government licensing process works, and how they can take part in monitoring all payments in the GoSL Online Repository after its launch.

GoSL Online Repository is now open for pre-registrations. 

The repository contains all mining concessions (industrial and artisanal) issued by the government, and all related payments. 

Register now (http://sierraleone.revenuesystems.org/) and get notified as soon as the government goes public.

Are you guys following up on what is going on in the Sierra Leone Parliament on the debate on the Petroleum Bill?

What I am reading is quite discouraging that the bill is being passed without proper deliberation and public inforamtion on the content of the Bill.

Sierra Leones' parliament is a de facto One-Party affair now, isn't it?

That's the dichotomy of democracy: the majority RULES, it does not have to be right.

Guys, thanks for the information you sent on (Sierra Leone's) artisinal mining revenue for local community development.

Are you guys aware of any other small country in Africa or in Latin/Carribean America with a record of successful utilization of revenue from artisinal mining for local development?

IBIS and NMJD have anaysed the DACDF in this recent paper. N;JD is very much on top of this process, though teh DACDF does not seem to work very well.
