sharing in governance of extractive industries
That sounds like a good start.
A short question that came to my mind: what would need to be added so that GOXI becomes the think tank we are looking for?
All the best
sorry, I did not want to sound negative at all. It just came to my mind that we might be able to use goxi for it. I find it absolutely not too optimistic. The question aimed at specifying the idea and identifying synergies. It is absolutely not too optimistic.
Here is the link to the RWI Resource Center, which I find very useful: http://resources.revenuewatch.org/en

I recalled our conversations about the idea of a think tank that was needed for Africa and how we circled around the idea. Reading your suggestion made me realize that GoXI in combination with the resource center might be the structure for the think tank that we were looking for. My question was aimed at identifying points, which would need to be added to goxi in order to fulfill the concept about the think tank.
Does that help? At the moment I do not know how better to explain it.

All, stumbled on this as part of reading for some work around transparency in West Africa. It sounds like it exists - the question is how to tap into this. www.cseaafrica.org
THINK TANK INITIATIVE (TTI)
CSEA receives support under the Think Tank Initiative (TTI), a wide-ranging multi-donor support initiative for think-tanks in developing countries, funded by the Canadian International Development Research Centre (IDRC), and the William and Flora Hewlett and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundations. CSEA is one of 24 think tanks in Africa to qualify under the TTI out of some 300 applicants.
The IDRC grant support to CSEA under the TTI (Think Tank Initiative) is instrumental in placing the think tank on a sustainable path and in facilitating its transformation from a “start-up” to a viable center of policy research.
