sharing in governance of extractive industries

Associate Director, Shared Resources Colombia in Cali

The One Earth Future Foundation would like to share an exciting opportunity to lead the growth of its program, Shared Resources, in Colombia. Established in 2016, Shared Resources works to integrate local voices and community participation into how oil, gas and mining resources are developed to reduce the risk of violence and armed conflict.

As Associate Director of Shared Resources, based in Cali, you will lead the startup and implementation of the program’s activities in Colombia. This will involve building partnerships with community groups and local actors to strengthen their access to the information and expertise needed to address the challenges of legal and illegal mining on their lands; promoting dialogue and collaboration across stakeholders; and supporting the implementation of existing participation mechanisms and research to ensure that local voices are heard at the national level.  In addition, the Associate Director will work to leverage the lessons learned globally on how communities and local actors can have a greater role in decision-making in extractives development. Spanish language required with fluency in English preferred.

This will include building key relationships with community and government partners, as well as other stakeholders across civil society and the private sector. The Associate Director will also lead the required administrative and operational aspects of the program in collaboration with the OEF home office and sister program activities in Colombia.
