Specialist for Business Development and Negotiation Support at the CONNEX Support Unit Secretariat (GIZ managed)

The CONNEX Support Unit (www.connex-unit.org) was created in January 2017 to provide assistance to governments of developing countries in negotiating, re negotiating or implementing large-scale, complex investment contracts. GIZ (German International Cooperation - Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit) was commissioned to manage the CONNEX Support Unit Secretariat. We are looking for support for our Secretariat team in Berlin, Germany.

We are looking for someone with

  • a degree in political science, economics, law or related field
  • At least seven years' professional experience relating to one or more of the core tasks, especially in advising governments in developing countries or economies in transition
  • Fundraising experience
  • Outreach and negotiating skills
  • Good knowledge of German and international development and cooperation policies
  • Strong communication and networking skills; high political sensitivity
  • Experience in managing complex cooperation systems
  • Fluency in English and very good knowledge of German language, advanced ability in French or Portuguese is desirable
