GOXI

sharing in governance of extractive industries

UNDP and WBI partner to support GOXI Community Development

We are pleased to announce that, with effect from 21 November 2013, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has joined the World Bank Institute (WBI) as convener of the GOXI Community. As conveners, both organizations will support the further development of GOXI.

UNDP has recently launched its Strategy and Global Initiative on Extractive Industries and brings its experience in supporting extractive sector governance in a number of developing countries.

With UNDP’s involvement, we anticipate that GOXI will be an even richer platform for dialogue and exchange of practical experiences, policy and lessons learned on issues related to the governance of the extractive industries. The goal is for GOXI to further develop into one of the top trusted sources of knowledge, expertise, news, events, training and job opportunities in the sector.

By joining forces, WBI and UNDP will look to further improve the services offered to GOXIans and open up possibilities for further functionalities for the GOXI community. For instance, options for the near future include: enhancing the multi-language functions of GOXI's website; setting up an open e-library to improve the content management component of GOXI; and developing an expert finder connected to a helpdesk.

We look forward to a productive partnership with your active engagement and support as a member of this community! We will soon be sending out a survey to receive your input and feedback on how we can improve GOXI and meet additional needs going forward. Please stay tuned.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact GOXI.
