Thanks Jasmin for inviting me to join the group. My name is Cynthia Simkonda; i serve as a Programme Officer for Natural Resources thematic area at Centre for Environmental Policy and Advocacy (CEPA) in Malawi. I have over 6 years of experience working with rural communities, government and non-governmental organizations. I am responsible for leading CEPA’s engagement on general Extractive Industries (EI) governance work. I am passionate about improving governance and social, economic and environmental rights in Malawi and beyond. I am keen on seeing that environmental and social impact assessments (ESIA) are properly conducted for all mining operations.
