1.2006-Present:Executive Director, MTL Consulting
As a co-founder, executive director and one of the main shareholders in the company, I am involved in all strategic and operational decisions of the company. Our company is a pioneer in provision of consulting services to the mining industry in Tanzania. From mining, we have extended our services to Oil & Gas, Infrastructure and Energy projects in Environmental and Social Impact Assessment, Monitoring, Auditing and due diligence. We are registered consulting engineers (Mining) by the Engineers Registration Board (ERB) in Tanzania. We are also registered Environmental Impact Assessment and Audit experts with the National Environment Management Council in Tanzania. We operate in East Africa and other parts of Africa
2.Oct 2003 – Aug 2006:Ministry of Energy and Minerals, Tanzania-Head of Licencing and Registrar of Mineral rights
As head of licensing and Mineral rights Registry, I was heading an office with the responsibilities of receiving and processing all mineral rights applications and making recommendations to the Commissioner for Minerals and Minister responsible for Minerals. I was also responsible for keeping the Mineral rights registry. During this period, I was also responsible for establishment of a modern, computerized, mining cadastre system (FlexiCadastre) with Spatial Dimension (currently part of Trimble) as consultants. I resigned from public services in August 2006 to join the private sector.
3.Jul 2000 – Oct 2003:Ministry of energy and Minerals-Zonal Mines Officer
I was incharge of the Ministry's Western Zone Office responsible for overseeing mining, mineral exploration and trading in Dar es Salaam, Coast, Tanga and Morogoro Regions. This included supervising the Ministry's Resident offices in Morogoro, Handeni and Tanga.
4.Nov 1993 – Jul 2000:• Resident Mines Officer, Ministry of Energy and Minerals
I was incharge of the Ministry's Resident Mines Office responsible for overseeing mining, mineral exploration and mineral trading in Dar es Salaam and Coast Regions
5.Apr 1988 – Nov 1993:• Mineral Exploration Geologist , Geological survey of Tanzania
After graduating from the University of Dar es Salaam with a B.Sc(Geol)(Hons), I was employed by the then Ministry of Water Energy and Minerals at the Geological Survey in Dodoma and posted to the Nzega Gold and Base Metals Exploration Project as a junior exploration geologist. In September 1991, I went for my post graduate training in Belgium and reported back in November 1993.
