In my PhD research I examine the social, political, and economic dynamics emerging from large-scale investment projects. Taking a wellbeing perspective, my research is focused on questions related to local knowledge and implementing international impact assessment standards in local ontological and socio-cultural contexts. My case study in Mozambique contributes to a subtler understanding of how extractive projects affect local communities’s wellbeing in their particular cultural and developmental context.
