About My Work
Since its inception, PWYP-US has led a national effort to pass legislation requiring US-listed oil, gas and mining companies to publish what they pay in the countries they operate. This goal was achieved with the passage of the Dodd-Frank Act in July 2010, which included the landmark extractives transparency provision, Section 1504. Since the law’s passage, PWYP-US has also led the international effort to ensure that the Securities and Exchange Commission develop strong regulations to implement Section 1504. The final rule to implement Section 1504 was released June 27, 2016.
