About My Work
My current specialisation focuses on the role of private sector actors operating in conflict
affected areas and promoting their contribution to peacebuilding. I have over 15 years of
experience in both the private sector and on conflict issues in fragile environments including
providing financial advice to both the private sector and the government on UK Public Private
Partnerships as well as advising multinational companies on effective risk mitigation
strategies. My country experiences spans three years in DR Congo and over 20 other
countries affected by conflict and violence. My educational background includes qualifying as
a chartered accountant as well as two MScs in Finance, and Conflict and Development.

Professional Experience
International Alert - London
7/11 – Present (Senior Programme Officer – Private Sector and Peacebuilding)
o Led research and developed policy recommendations for improved citizen participation in
the management of natural resources in both the palm oil and iron ore sectors in Liberia.
o Supported two multinational oil companies in Uganda, to integrate conflict sensitive
business practices into their operational risk mitigation strategies.
o Designed and advised on a project to build the capacity of the private sector to support
community cohesion and advocate for inclusive economic governance in Pakistan.
o Designed and advised on a project to support private sector development in Tunisia
aimed at providing employment opportunities for marginalised youth.
o Designed and delivered a training on economic dimensions of peace building for over 20
participants across the S Asia region.
o Managed a team of over 20 staff implementing a stabilisation and peacebuilding
programme in over 30 communities in Eastern DR Congo.
o Presented at over 5 international conferences promoting conflict-sensitivity among
economic development audiences including companies, World Bank Group, and
