Tanzania discloses mining revenues in first EITI report

On Friday 11 February 2011 the Tanzania EITI multi-stakeholder group launched the first EITI report that discloses payments made by the major mining and gas operating companies to government for the period of July 1, 2008 to June 30, 2009.

Nigeria publishes 2006-2008 EITI report

Ghana makes "brand new"oil discovery - Joy FM

More crude oil has been found offshore Ghana. The discovery was made in the Teak-1 Well in the West Cape Three Points, an area separate from the Jubilee Field where crude production is currently ongoing.

The bloc is jointly owned by Kosmos Energy, Anadarko and Tullow and four others including the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation.
