“Climate Change – Extractive Industries – Resource Efficiency @COP23”
On behalf of Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB), GIZ cordially invites you to the event “Climate Change – Extractive Industries – Resource Efficiency @COP23”.
The event will be held on Wednesday, November 8th 2017 from 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., on the occasion of the UN Climate Change Conference (COP23) in Bonn, Germany.
The aim of the side event is to initiate an in-depth debate about the role of extractives industries and the potential of resource efficiency in combating climate change. Different panel sessions will cover the following topics:
o The Growing Role of Minerals and Metals for a Low-Carbon Future
o Stranded Assets and their Impact on Resource Governance
o Resource Efficiency Potentials for Mitigating Climate Change
