sharing in governance of extractive industries
As a federal enterprise, GIZ supports the German Government in achieving its objectives in the field of international cooperation for sustainable development. The Extractives for Development project (X4D) in particular is aiming at improving extractive governance in resource rich developing countries. The portfolio of the job offer comprises digitalization, gender and local content in extractive governance. The work stream on digitalization deals with the potentials and challenges that digitalization holds for good governance of the extractive sector, such as for example a study on the governance implications of blockchain. The work stream on local content focuses and local content reporting and a planned project will research the economic and governance implications of automation in mining. The work stream on gender supports gender mainstreaming in multi actor partnerships in the extractive sector and identifies and promotes best practices examples.
