Local Content Frameworks in Latin America

Local content is a thematic broadly discussed between most of oil, gas and mining countries. However, this discussion among most of Latin American countries remains weak. For this reason, Grupo FARO (Ecuador) is currently developing a research on local content frameworks in Latin America. As a first step we have developed a document that describes the research and its main objectives (attached). The project is part of the Evidence and Lessons From Latin America - ELLA (ELLA | A South-South knowledge sharing and learning platform on sel...) initiative that seeks to promote learning and evidence exchange between Latin America and Africa. During this project, Grupo FARO and ACODE will analyze the legal frameworks regarding local content in oil and gas Latin American countries. Once identified these frameworks, case selected countries will be analyzed in order to establish the relationship between local content frameworks and their possible outcomes in local employment, skills development and national industry participation indicators.

The document is available online on:http://extrayendotransparencia.grupofaro.org/category/recursos/publ...
