Mining Lawyer – Extractive Industries Governance

Adam Smith International is looking for experienced Mining Lawyers with a strong technical background in Extractive Industries Governance, the drafting of mining laws and advising governments on their legal frameworks.

Competencies & Skills

  • A qualified lawyer
  • 15+ years of experience working in the mining sector or on mining legal issues
  • Experience developing and drafting government laws
  • Experience working with mining companies on legal compliance / legal issues
  • Experience working in Central Asia and post-Soviet countries. Mongolia experience preferable.
  • Experience working with international development partners preferable
  • Fluent English is required, other language skills would be very welcome
  • Ability to deliver activities on time, target and on budget
  • Ability to work with other lawyers, from other jurisdictions
