sharing in governance of extractive industries

A weekly digest of activity on GOXI

Though the Toromocho copper mine began production in June 2015, the 2015-16 EITI Peru report showed the Chinalco Peru did not pay corporate income tax in 2015 and 2016 for this mine. Why? Jacqueline Terrel explains why and how the 2016 EITI standard goes beyond contract transparency to seek to answer these questions.

Also from Peru, the Center for Mining and Sustainability Studies (CEMS) at the Universidad del Pacífico in LIma has published a report on the Center's 2017 survey of social management practices in the Peruvian mining sector

Backed by 29 case studies, the Intergovernmental Forum (IGF) presents guidance for local content policies for the mining sector.

And the Amulsar Independent Advisory Panel, consisting of seven Armenian and international sustainability experts, has released its first annual report in Yerevan.
