Trained as an engineer, Pierre de Pasquale has always been sensitive to the direct role played by big companies in constructing and maintaining North-South inequalities, and in the defense of their particular interests against collective amelioration of life conditions. Having been involved in both fieldwork and research and development projects for about 5 years, he has a strong knowledge of mining operations on their own, Mining Codes in force today, competitive tender mechanisms that are used when starting or extending exploitation contracts, and relations between governmental authorities and private companies. He recently joined the Responsible Mining Foundation as a Mining Analyst Researcher.
