Senior Consultant, Government Affairs and Corporate Communication at Africapractice in Madagascar

We are looking for a Senior Consultant for a 6 months extendable assignment for one of our clients’ in the extractive industry.

 

Role Purpose

 

  • Support the development of a client Government Affairs and Communication Department.
  • Implement the Communication Strategy towards all stakeholders’ categories to raise the client’s profile and establish its reputation in the country.

 

 Key responsibilities: 

 

  • Support our client to effectively map and align its agenda with the country socio-economic trajectory; support the engagement of key officials at highest level of public administration, national and regional:  map stakeholders, organize meetings, prepare content for engagements and ensure follow up
  • Media relation; Point of contact for media; liaise with the media, national and international manage requests, produce content, organize interviews and media site visits ;oversee roll out of social media strategy ;
  • Assure quality control (overseeing role) and production of content and collateral when necessary to support official and media engagements
  • Assure quality control and alignment of communication content used for community engagement with corporate communication 
  • Oversee content production from team members located on the mine site

 

 Qualifications and Specialist Skills

 

  •  Minimum 7 years relevant experience in extractive industry
  • Excellent consulting and crisis management skills,
  • Strong proven project management and client relationship building skills;
  • Capability to build and manage complex and sensitive stakeholder relationships
  • Outstanding presentation, written, oral and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively to tight deadlines in a fast paced, dynamic working environment and under pressure
  • Bilingual
