Kenya has definitely one of the most vibrant private sectors in Africa and has the potential to demonstrate how to build stronger backward linkages to local suppliers. However, there is also a risk of Dutch Disease which would could have a negative impact in other sectors such as agri-business or tech as business development increasingly will revolve around extractive. 

This is an excellent study about a key topic for the extractive industries: inclusive economic development.  If Kenya can get it right then it will hugely boost the reputation of the country internationally, just as Botswana's reputation has been in the ascendent throughout nearly all of its post-independence history, and of course be a great boon to both the welfare of Kenyans and the health of the country's economy.
