In Zambia, the EU-funded Mineral Production Monitoring Support Project (MPMSP, now in its final, 4th year) has indeed been supporting the Ministry of Mines and Minerals Development MMMD in improving the quality of mineral production reporting. There is now much greater confidence in the accuracy of the monthly production figures reported by the largest metal mines, producing more than 95% of Zambia's copper.
MPMSP has also supported Zambian EITI with capacity building around communications and visibility, including the production of a simple booklet to explain the 2015 Report, the creation of a new ZEITI website, Facebook and Twitter platforms.
