Check out our two papers on land and the extractive resources (mining &oil and gas) in Tanzania.
The first paper, 'Rights to land and extractive resources in Tanzania (1/2): The history', analyses the historic changes in rights related to oil/gas and mining investments in Tanzania. We focus on three actors; the state, investors and smallholder. (See attachment for more)
The second paper, 'Rights to land and natural resources in Tanzania (2/2): The return of the state', examines changes in contemporary mining and petroleum legislation (mining act 2010 & Petroleum Act 2015) and their implications for smallholders, investors and state actors.
