ok..that may well be the case for nationalizations..but that comment from Banda that "a windfall tax is bad for business" is interesting...dont high commodity prices globally lead to windfall taxes whether in Venezuala or in the UK? and if they do is Banda right? as for countries participating in business, havent the oil producers in the middle east done just that? Saudi Arabia used to earn only 23 cents from a barrell of oil...also looking at the world economy is neoliberalism in trouble? but i like the article. i like it very much indeed.
What beats me is that most of the current ANC leaders were eye-witnesses of what nationalisation did to Zambia while they were in exile? I'm very suspicious of most nationalisation proponents because its generally the leading political elites that end up benefiting from nationalised assets and not the masses in whose name they advocate it
