Ghana has been subjected to illegalities for so long. In mining operations, the plights of local communities have been neglected. Newmont has to operate within the limit of the law. Good Centre for Social Impact Studies revealing this.
@ Kobina, obviously a section of the people support the development of the mine for some reasons. Such people consider job opportunities and the development of the local economy. There are others who also think the development of the mine would have dire consequences on their livelihood, cultural attachments, etc and therefore want Newmont to engage in genuine dialogue with them. The use of the Police to forcefully eject those who object to the project would serve no purpose.
