I have developped a course on geopolitical aspect of the mining industry, based on classic geopolitical interpretations of Mckinder and Mahan: its explain the division between mining and seapower (mines on the coast, open market...) on one side and mining and heartland (mines on the silk road, centralized empires...) on the other side.
