Congratulations on this wonderful achievement. Indeed, local communities need campaigners to ensure their rights and interests are represented in legislation and negotiations. As indicated in this interview, the success of this fund will depend on its implementation.  In that respect, we thought it would be useful to re-circulate a report that we published at CCSI in 2013, in which we examined how a similar provision in Guinea's 2011 Mining Code could be implemented effectively. The report (available in English and in French) includes a comparative analysis of models and good practices of local development funds globally and provides recommendations on the selection and management of development projects funded by the local development fund, among other recommendations.
