We are looking for a Consultant for a 6 months extendable assignmentfor one of our clients’ in the extractive industry.

Role Purpose

  • Implement the Communication Strategy towards local stakeholders
  • Support the development of communication material and process to sustain community Liaisons activities
  • Ensure internal communication content is circulated appropriately and timely

Key responsibilities:

  • Support our client to establish constructive dialogue with local communities
  • Integrate and unify various communication and outreach workstreams
  • Media relation; Point of contact for media; liaise with the media, local and national, manage requests, produce content, organize interviews and media site visits ;oversee roll out of social media strategy
  • Production of content and collateral when necessary to support community liaison outreach activities
  • Collect information and produce update on local level activities and outreach
  • Produce content for social media and company web site ; oversee quality of third party suppliers of audiovisual material for use on web site and social media
  • Ensure sustained flow of accurate information internally

Qualifications and Specialist Skills

  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience in extractive industry
  • Excellent writing skills and capacity to communicate simply complex issues
  • Excellent crisis management skills,
  • Strong proven project management and client relationship building skills
  • Capability to build and manage complex and sensitive relationships with communities
  • Outstanding presentation, written, oral and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively to tight deadlines in a fast paced, dynamic working environment and under pressure
  • Ability to work in multi-cultural teams
  • Bilingual English - French
